This 46 year old lady came in complaining of an unsightly front tooth. She had a fall many years ago and fractured her upper right central incisor. Root canal treatment was done and a porcelain–fused-to-metal crown was fitted for her. Over time, the metal stained and the discolouration was evident. There was very little tooth structure left to hold a crown, and an implant was planned.
The root remnant was extracted, an immediate implant placed and a temporary crown fabricated to fit over the implant. This procedure took 45 min from start to end.
The final crown will be completed in about 3 months time after osseointegration is complete.
